Florida Tech, Eastern Florida State Launch SmartTrack MBA Program

Innovative Option for Eligible Students
Seeking Accelerated Degree    

MELBOURNE, FLA. — The two leading institutions of higher education in Brevard County, Florida Institute of Technology and Eastern Florida State College, have launched SmartTrack MBA, a program that will allow EFSC students to earn master’s degrees in business administration at Florida Tech’s Nathan Bisk College of Business in a streamlined, cost-effective format.

This accelerated program gives eligible students a guaranteed way into Florida Tech’s MBA program. Students in EFSC’s Bachelor of Applied Science Degree program in Organizational Management will be eligible when they reach 95 credits and maintain a 3.4 GPA.

Under the program, eligible students will have the chance to earn up to six Florida Tech MBA credits in their senior year at EFSC at a savings of $2,700. This early access will allow them to finish their MBA faster than in a traditional program.

“We currently have 612 students in our Bachelor’s Organizational Management program who could benefit from this agreement,” EFSC President Jim Richey said. “It’s a unique, cutting-edge approach that gives students a pathway to a great job after graduation. It’s a real game-changer.”

And there are other benefits under the SmartTrack program:

• Students are not required to pay a graduation admissions application fee, nor are they required to provide faculty recommendations, resume or a statement of objectives;
• The Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) is not required;
• Six credits of Essential Courses (MBA prerequisites) are not required;
• Students may gain the opportunity to receive a lucrative graduate or research assistantship plus stipend if they are taking at least 9 credits per semester at Florida Tech’s Melbourne campus.
