Faculty Member Honored by Florida Historical Society

Dr. Robert Taylor, Florida Institute of Technology associate professor, was named a President Emeritus of the Florida Historical Society at its annual
meeting in Naples, recently. It was the society’s 150th anniversary meeting.

Taylor also serves on the society’s board of advisors for the H-Net H-Florida listserv. This is a list of historians of Florida and includes book reviews,
discussions and notices of Florida history-related events.

Last December, Taylor’s seventh book, Florida, An Illustrated History, was published by Hippocrene Press. His previous book, Florida in the Civil War,
earned him the 2002 Charlton Tebeau Award for the Best Book on Florida History. A Florida historian for more than 20 years, he is also past-president of
the Florida Historical Society.
