Finance Professional Livingston Named Vice President of Financial Planning at Florida Tech

MELBOURNE, FLA. – Randy T. Livingston has been named vice president of financial planning at Florida Institute of Technology, effective Aug. 1. He brings extensive experience in corporate accounting and administration, risk management, financial reporting, budgeting, regulatory compliance, and long-term and strategic planning.

“I am very excited about joining the FIT family. The University is a well- respected member of the higher education community and is known for forward thinking leadership and quality education programs. The diversity of its operations presents an array of both challenges and opportunities that I find very attractive,” said Livingston.

Most recently, Livingston was vice president of financial affairs and chief financial officer for Clearwater Christian College in Clearwater, Fla., where he was employed for 12 years. The regionally accredited liberal arts college was founded in 1966.

Prior to this, he had a long career in finance and strategic planning, beginning in 1975, at American Electric Power (AEP) Inc., an investor-owned electric utility headquartered in Columbus, Ohio and operating in 11 states. His last five years at AEP were spent on the corporate staff developing and implementing company-wide strategic plans, particularly focusing on industry deregulation and the acquisition of other utility companies.

A graduate of The Ohio State University, Livingston also holds the CPA designation. Respected among the financial managers of Florida’s private colleges and universities, he was selected to chair the insurance risk-management pool (FICURMA) and the health benefits consortium, ICUBA.

Livingston will report to Bob Niebuhr, Senior Vice President for Financial Affairs and Chief Financial Officer. Under Livingston will be Controller Brenda Brown, Director of Student Finance and Treasury Operations Terri Carter and Manager of Budgeting Vicki Crane.
