Astronomy Lecture Explores ‘Living with a Star’

MELBOURNE, FLA. — Florida Tech’s Astronomy and Astrophysics Public Lecture Series will present, “Living with a Star” on Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. The presentation,
free to the community, will be in the F.W. Olin Engineering Complex auditorium, Room EC118.

The lecturer is Dr. Niescja Turner, Florida Tech assistant professor of physics and space sciences. There will be stargazing afterward, on the rooftop of
the Olin Physical Sciences Building, weather-permitting.

“I’ll discuss the Sun’s influence on electronics, satellite communications and on humans and animals,” said Turner.
