Panthers Hooked By Sailfish 3-0

MELBOURNE, Fla.- Florida Tech Panthers (1-1) were shut down by provisional NCAA II Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish (1-0) 3-0. The game scores were 26-30,
19-30 and 20-30. Tech was unable to step up being out-hit .330 to a lowly .101 percentage for the match.

Tech started off strong scoring the first point and fought a close battle with Palm Beach Atlantic going on a ten-point-run allowing them to score 15 by
the game’s midpoint.

The Panthers were unable to gain their composure back after game one, basically turning over numerous points on errors especially in the final game with 36
total match errors and hitting a negative .021 in game three.

Despite out digging the Sailfish 51 to 49, Palm Beach was strong at the net with 8.5 team blocks to the Panthers 3 for the match.

Leading the way for the Sailfish was senior MH Meghan Cok (Grand Haven, MI) hitting an impressive game high .500 with 11 kills and adding three blocks.
Teammate and fellow middle hitter, freshman Brittany Erickson (Alpine, CA) led all players with 13 kills and pitched in nine digs. Defensively, senior MH
Kristin Mock and junior Libero Whitney Warren stepped up with Mock grabbing five blocks and Warren tallying 15 digs.

Tech’s only star for the game was sophomore setter Amanda Boyce (Madison, WI). Boyce pitched in for every stat category hitting .412 with eight kills, 14
assists, seven digs, one block assist, and two service aces.

The Panthers will be back in action this weekend traveling to New York to play in the Long Island University-C.W. Post Pioneer Tournament in Brookville,
Florida on Friday and Saturday.
