MELBOURNE, FLA. — The Florida Tech Women’s Business Center (WBC) has posted its schedule of January courses at http://wbc.fit.edu/schedule/schedule.php.

Courses include “Intensive QuickBooks Workshops” taught by Katherine Johnson. She is a QuickBooks Pro adviser and accountant with over 30 years of
experience. The two-day workshop series includes a book, certificate and refreshments. The cost is $199 each day. Call (321) 795-3295 to register.

Also in January will be “Biz Lit Basics: Introduction Marketing Materials.” This is an overview of the basic necessities, such as business cards, brochure,
marketing letter and corporate capability presentation and the data needed to produce them.

There will be more information to come on “The Process of Buying a Business.” Anyone who is considering this move should take this course first.

Located on the third floor of the Link Building on campus, the WBC addresses regional needs for training, counseling, mentoring and technical assistance.
The center is designed to serve entrepreneurial women and women-owned small businesses in Brevard, Indian River and St. Lucie counties. For some courses
there is no charge.

The WBC was established in October 2007 under a grant of $1.35 million from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) for a five-year period. The WBC is
an outreach program of the College of Business at Florida Tech.
