Natalia Ramos Nabs Women’s Tennis Player of the Week

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Florida Tech Panthers receives Three Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week Honors in Softball, Women’s Tennis, and Men’s Golf in
the week ending on April 8th.

In women’s tennis, freshman Natalia
Ramos
(San Juan, Puerto Rico) received Florida Tech’s first women’s tennis player of the week honors in over two years after she won three
straight-set matches at #2 singles as the Panthers ran their team win total to eight, doubling the previous program record for single-season victories. In
addition to the three singles wins against Division I Binghamton and southeast region foes Newberry and Wingate, Ramos teamed with Michaela Horvathova
(Bratislava, Slovakia) to post a 2-1 mark at #1 doubles.

A fourth place finish at the Buccaneer Invitational hosted by Barry University on April 2nd and 3rd helped Justin Regier (East Amherst, N.Y.) earn
the Men’s Golfer of the Week. Regier carded a 214 (69-75-70) to tie for fourth out of 82 golfers with the team finishing ninth of 15 teams competing in the
event.

Tech’s junior softball pitcher Amber
West
(Apopka, Fla.) receives her first honors on the year after she did not allow a single earned run in two appearances as the Panthers won
an SSC series against Nova Southeastern. In 8.0 innings, she allowed eight hits and two walks while striking out 12. In Tech’s 1-0 win in game two, she
tossed a complete-game shutout, scattering six hits and walking two with 11 strikeouts.
