Scott Center Named Marathon Proceeds Recipient

MELBOURNE, FLA.—Organizers of the Melbourne & Beaches Music Marathon, 2011 National Masters Championship ½ Marathon, 8K & 5K have named the Florida Institute of Technology Scott Center for Autism Treatment a recipient of the proceeds from the two-day events on Feb. 5 and 6. The city of Melbourne has declared the “Music Marathon” Melbourne’s Signature Sporting Event.
Other worthy causes receiving funds from participating sponsors and runners include the Brevard Symphony Orchestra, Challenged Athletes Foundation and Breast Friends of Florida.

“We very much appreciate being named among the recipients and hope that the community comes out in force for East Central Florida’s premiere distance running event,” said Fran Warkomski, executive director of the Scott Center.
