Florida Tech, Chamber Offer Organizational Success Workshop
MELBOURNE, FLA.-Tighten the bolts on that career ladder with “Preparing Leaders for Organizational Success,” a leadership training and management workshop
presented by the Melbourne-Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce and Florida Tech. The series of six, three-hour sessions meets on Fridays, Sept. 22 – Dec. 1,
from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the chamber offices.
The sessions are: Understanding Your Management Style and the Style of Others; Understanding the Role of a Supervisor; The Manager’s Role in the Budget
Process; Scheduling, Planning and Time Management; Building an Effective Team; and Leadership, Delegation and Motivation. Teaching the sessions will be
Florida Tech doctoral-level faculty from the College of Business, Deborah Carstens and Barbara Pierce, and from the College of Psychology and Liberal Arts,
Richard Griffith, Erin Richard and Lisa Steelman.
A former workshop participant, Julie Song, wrote, “The program is certainly worth the time commitment and monetary investment. I would highly recommend the
program to others.” Song is director of business retention and expansion for the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast.
