Florida Tech Conference Services Bureau Receives Outstanding Achievement Award

MELBOURNE, FLA.—The Association of Collegiate Conference and Events Directors-International (ACCED-I) recently awarded The Florida Institute of Technology Conference Services Bureau with the Outstanding Institutional Achievement Award at the ACCED-I 31st Annual Conference in Orlando, Fla. The Florida Tech Conference Services Bureau is the two-woman team of Director Erica Spencer, CCEP, and Assistant Director Kimberly Fulks.

The award, which focuses on an institution’s outstanding milestone in conference and events management, recognizes significant achievement in the field for a single event or in more long-term development.

The Florida Tech Conference Services Bureau has grown from a minor operation to a certified One-Stop Shop. The Conference Service Bureau’s primary objective is to promote Florida Tech as a venue for conferences, meetings and other special events and to cultivate community partnerships by hosting successful programs.

Spencer has been in her Florida Tech position for three years and has worked seven years in the field. She has been a member of the ACCED-I since 2007. Fulks received her bachelor’s degree in communication from Florida Tech in 2010. She joined Spencer last November.

Established in 1980, the ACCED-I has more than 1,300 members in more than 600 institutions around the world.
