Florida Tech Earns Gold and Silver ADDY Awards

MELBOURNE, Fla. — Florida Tech’s Office of University Publications earned a gold and
a silver ADDY Award in the Space Coast Advertising Federation’s 2007 awards competition. The office received gold recognition in the four-color brochure
category for a university-wide brochure, produced in collaboration with Florida Tech’s Office of University Communications. The office’s silver honors were
in the mixed media campaign category for collateral material supporting the 2006 Uncommon Threads event.
Credits for the four-color brochure go to Judi Tintera, University Publications director, designer; Jay Wilson, Office of University Communications,
writer; Christena Callahan, editor; the Office of University Publications, production; and Ellison Graphics, printer. For the mixed media campaign, which
included a poster, flier, invitation, program and Web site, credits go to Tintera, art director; Josh Culver, designer; the Office of University
Publications, production; and Carla Funk, Office of Advancement.
“These awards validate the hard work and artistic creativity of the university publications and communications teams,” said Thomas G. Fox, senior vice
president for advancement. “We’re pleased to be recognized for what we’ve always known.”
The ADDY competition is judged by a three-member panel of design professionals from outside the Space Coast. Judges are selected based on their experience
in the marketing and advertising field with a specific focus on their creative skills.
“I’m honored that the work of our in-house creative team was recognized among Brevard’s design community,” said Tintera.
Selected from 165 submissions, both of Florida Tech’s entries will continue on to compete in the Fourth District ADDY award competition later this year.
