Florida Tech Engineering Student Honored at Toronto Forum

– Jenna Landis, a Florida Tech civil engineering undergraduate student, was selected to attend the 2005 HSBC (Hong Kong
and Shanghai Bank Corp.) Financial Literacy Forum, to be held in Toronto on Oct. 4. The forum is part of Students in Free enterprise (SIFE) World Cup 2005.

Landis is one of 100 to be invited from 27 countries. Her invitation is based on her participation and exemplary volunteer work in the SIFE segment of Camp
Dream Builders, held on the Florida Tech campus each summer to educate middle and high school students about civil engineering opportunities.

To support Camp Dream Builders, Landis was a camp counselor and helped middle and high school students with their projects.

Camp Dream Builders is sponsored by Florida Tech’s Construction Industry Advisory Board, a consortium of more than 20 local companies, the Associated
Builders and Contractors, and the National Association of Women in Construction. Dr. Howell Heck, Florida Tech associate professor of civil engineering, is the camp director. Dr. Carmo D’Cruz is the faculty advisor of Florida Tech’s SIFE
chapter.

More information on the Florida Tech SIFE chapter is available at www.SIFE.org.
