Florida Tech InSTEP Program Presents Invasive Species Lecture April 16

MELBOURNE, FLA. — Florida Institute of Technology will present speaker Kevin B. Johnson, associate professor in the Department of Marine and Environmental
Systems, at the next Ocean Discovery Seminar April 16 at 7 p.m. The seminar, titled “Invasive Species: The Second Greatest Global Environmental Threat,” is
part of the Integrated Science Teaching Enhancement Partnership (InSTEP) program. It will be held in the Brevard Community College Cocoa campus auditorium,
and is free and open to the public.

The Florida Tech InSTEP program is funded by two grants from the National Science Foundation that total nearly $3.4 million. The program enables university
graduate students and faculty to work with high school science teachers in Brevard County public schools to develop inquiry-based lesson plans.
