Florida Tech Joins in Jailbreak Race
MELBOURNE, FLA.—Two members of the Florida Institute of Technology Triathlon Club have volunteered as the Florida Tech team for the Jailbreak Brevard Adventure Race. The Oct 26 event benefits United Way Brevard and the many charities under its umbrella.
The Florida Tech team consists of Wade Dauberman, a 2012, B.S. in biological science graduate, and Christopher Cacciapaglia, who also graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 2012, and continues as a graduate student in biological sciences.
Florida Tech is also a “Booking Sponsor” for the off-grid adventure race, which will take place on the grounds of the Brevard Jail Complex in Sharpes, Fla. It covers three miles and traverses 12 to 15 muddy, wet obstacles for the jail-breakers followed by Brevard’s Finest in hot pursuit.
Other sponsorships are available, ranging from a $100 “Obstacle Sponsor” to a $10,000 “Event Sponsor.” For sponsorship information, contact Lindsey Deaton at Lindsey.Deaton@bcso.us.
Race registration is at http://jailbreakbrevard.eventbrite.com. Runners must be at least 12 years old and those 12-17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
