High School Students Can Sharpen Writing, Get Creative In Florida Tech Summer Writing Camp

MELBOURNE, FLA. — Florida Tech presents its second annual Summer Writing Day Camp for high-school students on the Melbourne campus. The camp aims to sharpen
participants’ skills in writing SAT and college application essays as well as offer enriching experiences in poetry writing and film scriptwriting.
The course runs the week of July 9-13. Creative writing sessions meet 9 to 11:30 a.m.; essay writing and language skills will be offered from 12:30 to 3
p.m. The cost is $275; a $75 registration fee will be applied to the cost of the camp. Enrollment includes a notebook of writing tips and a Florida Tech
T-shirt.
Florida Tech full-time faculty members will lead participants in a variety of writing experiences. There will be special guest speakers and writing
experiences in the Botanical Garden. An optional lunch will be served at the university each day.
