My life since I started an MBA at Florida Tech

By Glenn Cameron, MBA

When I graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in biology, I quickly found out that there is not much of a job market for a biology major with only an undergraduate degree.  By the time I graduated, I found I had already lost my passion for biology.  However, while I was at UF, I started a company with a friend called “The Network.” The Network held weekly events at nightclubs in Gainesville and hosted some of the biggest pool parties with celebrity guests. It also had its own social network. The social network grew to over 10,000 members locally and got over 1.5 million page views in a year! This experience made me fall in love with internet marketing.

When I was looking for a graduate program I came across Florida Tech’s MBA with a specialization in internet marketing. I grew up near the school’s main campus and I know someone who is a multi-millionaire executive with an MBA from Florida Tech. So, it was a no brainer for me to apply to the program. I have been a student in the program for over a year now. In that time I scored a job at a digital media company in downtown Orlando with an office that overlooked the city. Now, I am the web editor for two internationally published magazines, Sport Fishing magazine and Marlin magazine.

It has been an exciting year and I cannot wait to see what the last year of the program holds for me.
