MELBOURNE, FLA. — Florida Tech was named to the first-ever President’s Honor Roll for Higher Education Community Service. The distinction recognizes the
students, faculty and staff at Florida Tech and other universities for helping to build a culture of service and civic engagement in the United States. The
awards were made collaboratively by the U.S. Department of Education; the Department of Housing and Urban Development; USA Freedom Corps; and the
President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation.
Fewer than 500 colleges and universities throughout the country were recognized for this honor. According to the award certificate, Florida Tech was
recognized “for extraordinary and exemplary contributions to meeting critical local and national needs through community service and
service-learning.”

College Education, and is ranked as a Best Southeastern College by The Princeton Review. For the second straight year, Washington Monthly magazine has
