Florida Tech Names Building for Trustee Allen S. Henry

MELBOURNE, FLA. — A recently renovated building on Florida Tech’s south campus, housing the Center for University Advancement, has been named the Allen S.
Henry Building.
Dr. Henry has been a Florida Institute of Technology trustee since 2000, serving as chairman of the board from 2003 to 2007. He has been responsible for
$3.8 million in gifts to the university.
A resident of Indialantic, Henry is a retired vice-president and general manager of JDS Uniphase Broadband Products, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of JDS
Uniphase Corporation. Before this post, Henry was the chairman and CEO of Broadband Communications Products Inc.
Henry also worked for 23 years at Harris Corporation, serving as president of the Electronic Systems Sector. He has a doctoral degree in engineering from
the University of Iowa and is a former chairman of the Holmes Regional Medical Center Board of Directors.
“Dr. Henry has been an excellent chairman of our Board of Trustees. His dedication, commitment, and generosity have been extremely helpful as the
university has advanced as a global leader. Dedicating this building to acknowledge his contributions is very fitting,” said Florida Tech President Anthony
J. Catanese.
