Information Assurance Meeting: Tales from Penetration Testing, Sept. 20

MELBOURNE, FLA.—The Harris Institute for Assured Information at Florida Institute of Technology and the Space Coast Chapter of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) present a monthly lecture series on security trends and topics. The next meeting, which is free and open to the public, is scheduled for Sept. 20, at 6:30 p.m. in the third-floor conference room of the Harris Center for Science and Engineering Building on the Florida Tech campus.

The Institute hosts Andrew Benhase, a principal architect at Cisco Systems. Benhase will speak on secure network architectures for today’s dynamic environment, addressing new security challenges such as stealthy attacks, http-based malicious code and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) access controls.

Benhase is currently the principal architect for U.S. Public Sector of Cisco, focusing primarily on information assurance architectures for defense and intelligence customers, cybersecurity, and cloud-based computing. He will focus on specific technical areas such as developing robust defenses based on network flow and advanced use of Quality of Service (QoS) technologies. The QoS technologies are used to combat, isolate and help identify advanced persistent threats to customer networks with a distinct focus on the development of next generation encryption for secure mobility.
