Florida Tech Promotes Fourteen Faculty Members

MELBOURNE, FLA. — At  Florida Tech, eight faculty members have been promoted to professor and six to the position of associate professor. Faculty
promotions occur annually, every March.
Promoted to the position of professor are John E. Deaton; College of Aeronautics; Julia Grimwade, biological sciences, College of Science; Pierre M.
Larochelle, mechanical and aerospace engineering, College of Engineering; Kanishka Perera, mathematical sciences, College of Science; Gnana Tenali,
mathematical sciences, College of Science; Scott Tilley, computer sciences, College of Engineering; Ralph Turingan, biological sciences, College of
Science; and Nathaniel Villaire, College of Aeronautics.
Promoted to associate professor are Andrew Aberdein, humanities and communication, College of Psychology and Liberal Arts; Marcus Hohlmann, physics and
space sciences, College of Science; Jay Kovats, mathematical sciences, College of Science; Steven M. Lazarus, marine and environmental systems, College of
Engineering; Kevin Johnson, marine and environmental systems, College of Engineering; and Rudolph Wehmschulte, chemistry, College of Science.

College Education, and is ranked as a Best Southeastern College by The Princeton Review. For the second straight year, Washington Monthly magazine has
named Florida Tech the top private university in Florida and Fiske Guide to Colleges designated Florida Tech one of 14 top technical institutions in the
United States.
