Florida Tech Names Richardson to Associate Dean Post

MELBOURNE, FLA. —Florida Institute of Technology has named Theodore R. Richardson III, Ed.D. associate dean of University College, effective July 9. Richardson most recently was associate dean for external affairs for the Ronald L. Bittner School of Business at St. John Fisher College in Rochester, N.Y.

In his role as associate dean, Richardson will oversee all University College master’s degree and graduate certificate programs under both the Extended Studies and Distance Learning Divisions.

With St. John Fisher, Richardson was a member of the president’s senior staff governing the college and was a member of the Institutional Effectiveness Committee and the doctoral advisory committee in the School of Education.

“Dr. Richardson brings a wealth of experience to Florida Tech’s University College,” said University College Dean Clifford R. Bragdon. “He will serve as my right hand as we transition the college into a 21st century learning environment.”

During his career at St. John Fisher, Richardson was active in strategic initiatives and programs including enrollment management, marketing strategies and new graduate program development for the MBA and EMBA programs, involvement in the business school capital campaign including endowed chairs and a Center for Non-Profit Management, collaborations with the city of Rochester, AACSB and regional accreditation committees and faculty recruitment.

Richardson’s career in higher education also includes position of Assistant Director of Higher Education Equal Opportunity program at the University of Pittsburgh, where he was also a mathematics instructor. He earned his doctoral degree in higher education management from the University of Pennsylvania.
