Florida Tech Offers Online “Ethical and Legal Considerations for the Behavior Analysis Practitioner”

MELBOURNE, FLA.—Do you seek to enhance your career or simply expand your knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA)? The ABA Online Program at Florida Institute of Technology announces a new online continuing education (CEU) workshop, “BEHP 1010: Ethical and Legal Considerations for the Behavior Analysis Practitioner.” Enrollment is open and ongoing.

Part of its ABA Guru Series, the course earns three Type 2 BACB® continuing education units to maintain BCBA®, or BCaBA® certification. It is presented by Jose Martinez-Diaz, Ph.D, BCBA-D, program chair of the Office of Strategic Initiatives Applied Behavior Analysis Online Program.

The three-hour workshop, in video format, can be easily accessed. Videos are segmented to allow students the opportunity to start and stop as needed. Students are also given two weeks to complete the workshop.All that is needed is a computer with a better than dial-up internet connection and sound capabilities.

Students will explore the ethical and legal considerations in the practice of behavior analysis. Topics will include regulatory, disciplinary and professional standards, and ethical issues relevant to client services. Case scenarios will demonstrate principles and facilitate understanding of the workshop material. Students do not need to purchase this material as it is provided.
