Florida Tech Participates in Grant to Train Teachers

– Florida Tech will participate in a $1.5 million grant awarded to the Florida Independent College Fund (FICF) by the Florida Department of Education to
support the YesTeach!Math&Science campaign. This is a statewide effort that seeks to engage and energize new teachers, current teachers, students,
parents and community leaders in the areas of elementary education, math and science.

Over the next year, YesTeach!Math& Science will recruit, prepare and support up to 800 new elementary education, math and science teachers in Florida.
Eligible applicants will receive scholarships for online materials. Also included is the eLibrary, which will contain materials designed to help teachers
upgrade their skills and subject content knowledge. Applicants also will receive personalized assistance with the temporary certification process and
support in applying for jobs in Florida school districts.

The online training materials and tutorials are made possible through a collaborative effort with the Florida Space Research Institute and Steel Beach
Production, Inc.
