Florida Tech Participates in National Consortium of Secondary Schools
MELBOURNE, FLA. — Ashok Pandit, head of the Florida Tech Department of Civil Engineering, and Debra Blenis, director of teacher education in the Florida Tech
Department of Science and Mathematics Education, made presentations at the annual conference of the National Consortium of Specialized Secondary Schools of
Math, Science and Technology, held in Philadelphia, Pa., in March.
Pandit presented “Make Pre-calculus Fun: Use Civil Engineering Applications” and Debra Blenis presented “Puzzle Your Pupils: Make Puzzles Part of Your Game
Plan.”
Also at the conference, Judi Marino, Florida Tech director of transfer and international student enrollment, was elected to the consortium’s board of
directors. Elected to the only board slot designated for a college representative, Marino will serve as chair of the Affiliate Member Committee and remain
on the board for three years.
