Florida Tech Presents Guitarist-Comedian

– Florida Tech’s Campus Activities Board presents J. Chris Newberg, guitarist/songwriter/comedian, on Wednesday, March 10 at 8 p.m. Newberg’s performance
will take place in the university’s Gleason Auditorium at no charge.

At the forefront of the Michigan comedy scene, Newberg was described by the Detroit Free Press as one of five local comics most likely to break out into
the national spotlight. He studied “improv” for two years at the nationally renowned Second City Comedy Troupe.

Newberg, a guitarist and songwriter for veteran Detroit rock band, the Vudu Hippies, he has developed a stand-up comic routine that combines off-beat
observations on life with original, acoustic guitar melodies. The Vudu Hippies have four CDs to their credit and have toured most of the Midwest and the
West Coast.
