Florida Tech Presents Innovative The Light Tribe

MELBOURNE, FLA. — A highlight of Florida Tech’s fourth annual Digital Showcase on Feb. 23 will be The Light Tribe, a digital performing arts troupe. The
Light Tribe will perform at 6 p.m. in the Gleason Performing Arts Center. The performance is free.
The Light Tribe uses music, light, still and moving images, special effects, computerized lighting, and real-time control of the theatrical environment to
express artistic concepts. The concepts relate to history, harmonics, happiness, social relationships and hope.
The troupe’s program includes ancient Aztec and modern musical instruments, synchronized computer dialogs, digital time lapse photography, video feedback,
and computerized effects.
The Light Tribe offers a unique combination of entertainment and education using state-of-the art technology,” said Nicole Hoier, Florida Tech’s manager,
technology enhanced content, Information Technology.
