Florida Tech Program Helps Meet Company Staffing Needs

MELBOURNE, FLA.—The Florida Institute of Technology Job Location and Development (JLD) Program helps area employers find part-time help. The federally funded program assists currently enrolled students in obtaining off-campus part-time employment to enhance their professional and academic experience. This service is free for students and employers.

Florida Tech’s Melbourne campus student population has grown to more than 3,700 students in fall 2009. Many of these students seek positions locally to subsidize their tuition and living costs, and to develop professionally. Available jobs in Brevard, Orange, and Indian River counties are posted online by the Career Services Office. After receiving job information, students are responsible for contacting the employer, setting up an interview and reporting their progress back to the Career Services Office.

For more information, contact Elizabeth Farney, assistant director of career Services at Florida Tech, at (321) 674 -7575, or at efarney@fit.edu.
