Florida Tech Receives BBLN Award for Disability Awareness

MELBOURNE, FLA.—Florida Institute of Technology received an Employer Award from the Brevard Business Leadership Network (BBLN) on Oct. 8 at an awards luncheon. The luncheon was held in observance of National Disability Employment Awareness Month at the Crowne Plaza Melbourne Oceanfront.

The annual honors are presented to local employers who are leaders in hiring and training employees with disabilities and go beyond the mandated laws of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Other award recipients include Buena Vida Estates, Kohl’s, Melbourne International Airport, and Pizza Gallery and Grill.

The BBLN is dedicated to promoting the employment of qualified workers who have disabilities and assisting businesses and organizations in the recruitment, hiring, training and retention of employees with disabilities.
