Florida Tech Security Chief Nominated for Campus Safety Director of Year

MELBOURNE, FLA.—Kevin Graham, director of campus security, Florida Institute of Technology, has been nominated for Campus Safety Director of the Year by Campus Safety magazine. Graham has been Florida Tech campus security chief since January 2004.

Among recent achievements, Graham worked with the U.S. Secret Service and other local authorities to ensure the security of President Barack Obama when he visited campus last fall. He also implemented a blue light emergency phone system, coordinating the installation of 80 units across campus.

Graham was with the Pennsylvania State Police in Harrisburg from 1975 to 2002. He concluded his service there as lieutenant-western commander, systems and process review. Before coming to Florida Tech he was assistant chief of university police at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pa.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in administration of justice from the University of Pittsburgh and a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Geneva College in Pennsylvania.

The winner will be announced in March.
