X-Culture: Taste of the Future

Being involved in the X-Culture project is giving me substantial insight and awareness of what the future holds in terms of the integration and togetherness of different cultures in a working environment.

Coming into this project a couple weeks late, I was concerned of the reaction I would receive from my teammates. However, their kindness and reception exceeded my expectations. They got me up to speed with all the work I had missed and made me feel I was part of the team in no time by asking for my opinions and checking in with before any further decisions were made. So far, my team members and I have met all the required deadlines and completed the tasks that were assigned to us with all the members being involved and contributing to the ideas and discussions through a Facebook Group Page. Although sometimes, communication appeared to be an issue due to the time differences and the language barriers, I believe that we handled the situation respectfully and patiently, understanding the views each team member brought to the table.

This project is going to be a great experience for me and I look forward to completing it, facing the many challenges that comes with it and in a few years be able to use the skills I have learnt.
