Panthers Defeat Sailfish 2-1 in Late Night Men’s Soccer Action

Head Coach Robin Chan Tallies First Collegiate Win

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.-The Florida Tech Men’s Soccer Team (1-1) rings in the new “Robin Chan” era by defeating the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish (0-3) 2-1 in
the late night match at the Lantana field.

At the half the score was tied at 1-1, with junior Michael Blimline FWD (Reading, PA) scoring the first goal with an assist by senior FWD Mohammed Al
Sharif (Jeddah, Saudi Arabia). Junior FWD Bill Brindley (Chestertown, MD) scored PBA’s only goal off a penalty kick for the Sailfish.

Freshman FWD Brad LaPorte (Port St. Lucie, FL) notched the game winning goal for the Panthers off an assist by fellow freshman MID Ryan Haggerty (Palm Bay,
FL).

Freshman keeper Cory Collins tallied his first collegiate win allowing only one goal and adding a save for the match.

Tech will be back in action on Wednesday, September 7th traveling to Daytona Beach for a 7:00 p.m. kick-off against Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
