Panthers Fall to Spartans Again in Women’s NCAA II Basketball Action

TAMPA, Fla. (women’s basketball) — Florida Tech (15-4, 7-2) unable to take the Tampa Spartans (14-6, 6-3) on their home court lost 60-43 at the Bob Martinez
Center tonight in Sunshine State Conference women’s basketball action. This loss puts Florida Tech and Rollins tying for the number one spot in the
conference.

Defensively, Tech got outhustled on the court, allowing the Spartans to grab 45 rebounds to their own 34 for the night. While the Panthers shot 25% from
the field Tampa shot 35% for the contest. The Red and Black drove the basket all night and racked up fouls on the Crimson and Gray they made it to the line
42 times hitting 30 of their chances with a 71% free throw percentage. Tech only went 8-for-12 from the charity stripe for the evening.

Despite hitting one more basket from the field and three more from downtown, Tech lost the game at the line.

SSC Player of the Week Jen Tamilio (Boston, Mass.) was the only Panther to score in the double figures for Tech finishing with 11 points and six rebounds.
Tamilio went 3-for7 from the line. Junior starting forward Kassie Crimi (Jordan, Minn.) led Tech under the boards with a season high seven rebounds
including six offensive rebounds.

Crimi jump started Tech at the beginning scoring the first four points for Florida Tech after pulling down and offensive board. Crimi added eight points,
one assist, one block and one steal. Coming off the bench, junior Kristin Heminger (Merritt Island, Fla.) chipped in nine points including 2-for-6 from
downtown. She also garnered six rebounds and two assists.

Florida Tech will turn around on Wednesday and head south facing Lynn University at a 5:30 p.m. tip-off. Lynn is the host of the 2007 Sunshine State
