Florida Techs Gleason Attends Summer Institute at Vanderbilt University

MELBOURNE, FLA. — Carey Gleason, assistant vice president for advancement at Florida Institute of Technology, was invited to participate in the Peabody
Professional Institutes’ Summer 2009 Program at Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College in Nashville, Tenn. She recently attended the institute’s week-long
Institutional Advancement Leadership program.

The program covered return-on-investment analysis for development offices; self-regulation of the fundraising profession; management techniques for
advancement in the 21st century and community engagement as a development strategy.

Gleason is a past chair of the East Central Region of Leadership Florida, which comprises Orange, Brevard, Lake, Sumter, Osceola, Seminole and Volusia
counties. She earned an M.B.A. degree from Florida Tech in 1989.
