Florida Tech’s Growing Music Program Benefits from Gift

MELBOURNE, FLA.—The music program at Florida Institute of Technology has struck a note of support with a local couple eager to see activities expand.

Cliff and Sarah Bragdon have made a donation that enhances the overall program, while also contributing to a newly conceived artist in residence initiative.

“This gift is intended to serve as the catalyst to launch a very special fundraising initiative to bring an artist in residence to Florida Tech,” Cliff Bragdon said. “Sarah and I are eager to see a world-class artist on campus that will provide new knowledge and a broader appreciation for music for the entire community. We hope others will contribute to this worthwhile cause.”

The Bragdons both serve on the university’s Music Program Advisory Board and are longtime supporters of music in the community, including the Brevard Symphony Orchestra and the Brevard Community Chorus. Cliff Bragdon, now Florida Tech professor emeritus, was formerly the vice president for strategic initiatives, dean of University College, and distinguished research professor.
