Boston Red Sox Pitcher Tim Wakefield to Speak at Florida Tech Commencement

MELBOURNE, FLA. — The Charles and Ruth Clemente Center is the site of Florida Tech’s Fall Commencement ceremonies on Dec. 16 at 10 a.m. Highlighting the
event will be alumnus Tim Wakefield, Boston Red Sox pitcher, delivering the commencement address. He will also receive the university’s most prestigious
award, the President’s Medal.
About 280 students will receive their bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degrees at fall commencement in Melbourne. Florida Tech will also confer
approximately 170 more master’s degrees through its University College Extended Studies Division, which has 10 sites throughout the United States and a
virtual campus.
The President’s Medal acknowledges individuals who have provided superior service, support and dedication to the university.
