Former Faculty Forms New Florida Tech Scholarship Fund
– Florida Tech will create an endowed scholarship fund to be named the Dr. Anne P. Rowe Scholarship Fund. The fund will be established to exist in
perpetuity with annual earnings made available for scholarship awards to senior students in the Florida Tech School of
Engineering.
The fund, begun with an initial contribution of $10,000 by Dr. Rowe, will, through annual contributions by Rowe, be endowed at a minimum of $50,000. Any
person may, at any time, make additional contributions to this fund by gift or bequest to the university.
Rowe was a Florida Tech associate professor of mechanical engineering from 1979 to 1983, teaching engineering materials courses. Now in retirement, she
divides her time between Ann Arbor, Mich. and Palm City, Fla. Rowe earned her doctoral degree from the University of Michigan.
Florida Tech offers a variety of scholarships to qualified students. Generally, to qualify, students must have high scores on the Scholastic Aptitude Test
or the American College Testing assessment test and must have a strong grade point average to be considered for a scholarship. Generally, a transfer
student must have a strong grade point average.
