Four International Students Are Johnston Scholars

– Four Florida Tech students have earned $2,500 Wilbur Dean Johnston International Student Scholarships.

Recipients are rising seniors Marisha Jan Rawlins from Trinidad & Tobago, a computer engineering major; Rong Li from China, an electrical engineering
major; Patricia Maria Fernandez from Brazil, a pre-medical chemistry major; and Justin Michael Eickmeier from Canada, an ocean engineering major.

The scholarship was founded by Dr. Mary Helen McCay, Florida Tech College of Engineering research professor, in memory of her father, Wilbur Dean Johnston.
Johnston was a strong advocate for higher education and of providing opportunities for the higher education of students from foreign countries.

The International Student Scholarship Committee selects scholarship recipients. They must be residents of foreign countries and full-time students, hold at
least a 3.85 grade point average and have completed a minimum of 60 credit hours.
