Florida Tech Anticipates Earth Day with Wind- and Solar-Powered Outdoor Concert

MELBOURNE, FLA. — Florida Tech and its Green Campus Group will celebrate Earth Day about a week early, on Sunday, April 15, with the third annual Solar Music
Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Panther Plaza. Playing will be live bands, run on energy provided from the sun and wind. A hybrid and hydrogen-powered car
will be on display. There is no charge for admission.
“This will be an opportunity to learn what to do to live greener,” said Green Campus Group representative Gwen Valentine. The Green Campus Group works to
educate the campus on wasting less and making better use of waste. It promotes sustainability.
Collaborating with the Solar Music Fair will be the Campus Activities Group’s Spring Blow-Out 2007. More live music, interactive activity booths, wall
climbing, a dodge ball tournament and refreshments will add to the day’s events.
Panther Plaza is located off Country Club Drive. For more information, contact Valentine at gvalenti@fit.edu.
