Free Florida Tech Alumnus Lecture Will Be ‘Whale Done!’
– Nationally respected educator and speaker, Dave Force, will present “Whale Done,” a free lecture about his experiences working with the animals at Sea
World, on Oct. 26 at 4 p.m. in Florida Tech’s Skurla Auditorium. The 1973 Florida Tech bachelor’s degree graduate is vice president of animal training and
education at Sea World San Antonio.
Beginning his career with Sea World Orlando in 1974, Force has worked at all three Sea World parks. He established Sea World Orlando’s education department
and, while there, implemented educational field trip programs designed to augment the classroom marine science curriculum. Force transferred to the animal
training department in 1976 and has since focused on animal training and education.
Today, he oversees all education department programs to impact school-age children, including field trips, tours, science classes, resident camp programs
and teacher workshops. He is a member and past president of the International Marine Animal Trainers Association.
