Forbes Magazine: Florida Tech Among Nation’s ‘Best Value’ Universities

Magazine Examined Cost, Quality, Grad Success for Prestigious List

MELBOURNE, FLA. — Florida Tech is again one of the nation’s Best Value Colleges, according to the 2019 annual ranking from Forbes magazine.

Featuring just 300 U.S. colleges and universities offering four-year degrees from a total of 645 under consideration, the list from the influential publication was designed to provide students with a snapshot of schools offering the most value for the dollar.

“Most students and their families are interested in value over prestige,” the magazine said. The ranking “is the definitive guide for those looking for an excellent return on one of the most important investments of their lives.”

Forbes scored universities in six areas: quality; net price; net debt; alumni earnings; timely graduation; and access for low-income students.

This is not the first time a leading outlet has highlighted the financial merits of a Florida Tech education.

Most recently, in December, Florida Tech was named No. 7 on the list of the 50 most underrated U.S. universities by the financial website Business Insider due primarily to the strength of graduates’ mid-career salary.

And previously, Forbes found that Florida Tech was the top private university in Florida and among the highest ranked private institutions in the country for the low amount of federal loan debt accrued by its students.
