Womens Business Center Presents Social Networking: Marketing with the New Media

MELBOURNE, FLA. — Florida Institute of Technology’s Women’s Business Center will present “Social Networking: Marketing with the New Media” on Wednesday, Dec.
17, from 6 to 8 p.m., on campus, in the Link Building, Room 323. The cost is $25.

Social networking presents a technological opportunity that may be the biggest since e-mail. The sites have simplified and amplified connections between
people, creating a thriving online community that let friends interact through common interest groups, games, greetings, video clips and more. Social
networks are the latest iteration of the Web economy. Unlike e-commerce sites and search engines, however, they offer a more intimate setting for friends
and professionals to connect and share information.

LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, and MySpace are three great applications for building up a social network of professional associates and friends.
Class participants will learn the benefits of social networking, where to network online, how to generate new business for little to no cost, and how to
take advantage of new opportunities. Participants will also leave the class with their own LinkedIn, Facebook, and MySpace pages set up.

Instructor Tom Fulmer is a certified human behavior consultant and the founder of Success Essentials, a company dedicated to helping businesses and people
better manage their time, increase sales, and create stronger relationships with staff and clients.

Tom has trained people from companies across the country such as Google, Morgan Stanley, Smith Barney and Kennedy Space Center.
Each participant will also have the option (for an additional $50) to record A 60-second video for their Web site or social networking sites.
