Florida Tech Partnership Offers Certified Six Sigma Exam Prep Courses for Professional Development, April 8-11
MELBOURNE, FLA.—The Florida Institute of Technology Office of Strategic Initiatives has partnered with CAS Adaptive Solutions Corp., a small business based in Titusville, Fla., to offer Certified Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt Exam Prep classes to anyone interested in pursuing those certifications. The first Green Belt class will meet April 8 to 11, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily at the Marriott Courtyard in Cocoa Beach, Fla.
Susan Eaton, director of Global Center for Preparedness Programs, said she was “delighted to partner with a local small business on another training program requested by employees at Kennedy Space Center who will be affected by the Space Shuttle program retirement.”
The first program, Project Management Professional® Exam Prep was launched just over a year ago. The Six Sigma class was a direct result of requests from many of the 87 students who completed the PMP® course.
Don Johnston, president of CAS Adaptive Solutions Corp., said he was impressed with how quickly the class came together with Florida Tech. “The timing couldn’t be more perfect since the application deadline for the next Certified Six Sigma Green Belt test held locally is Friday, April 16.” Johnston and colleague Bonnie Hauge are also developing a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt Exam Prep course to follow the Green Belt class.
To ensure success on the exam, students receive a complete set of materials, including the ASQ Green Belt Handbook, a CAS Adaptive student binder with all course slides and presentations and a Six Sigma Green Belt Exam success sheet to facilitate studying.
