Hafer Family in Concert at Wickham Park Amphitheatre

MELBOURNE, FLA. — WFIT 89.5FM, a service of Florida Tech, and the Brevard County Parks and Recreation Department, present The Hafer
Family,
in a free concert, at Wickham Park’s Amphitheatre on Saturday, Aug. 4, from 3 to 6 p.m.
Vocalist Lorrie Hafer will sing songs from “The Best of the
American Popular Songbook,” With talented parents like Al Ham and Mary Mayo (vocalist with Frank Sinatra and others), it is no surprise that she would
follow in their footsteps.                     Lorrie began her
career at age five as a guest vocalist on Guy Mitchell’s show. She has recorded several CDs and toured the world with big bands such as The Glenn Miller
Orchestra, the Les Brown Band, Bill Tole’s Tribute to Tommy Dorsey and The Russ Morgan Orchestra.  She also performs on cruise ships, at jazz
festivals, private parties and other events.                 Mike Hafer, Lorri’s
husband, began his musical career at age seven. He studied organ and piano, and played professionally throughout his college days. In 1972 he started
performing with big bands. He met and married Lorri in 1981. The two began performing as a duo in New York clubs and toured with performers such as Frankie
Laine and the The Four Lads.                 Son Paul, born in 1988, was reared
on his parents’ music. Possessing an inherited talent, by age 16 Paul had performed on cruise ships and with the Les Brown band. He now performs on the
upright bass with his parents.
