Heminger Named SSC Women’s Basketball Player for the Week

ORLANDO, Fla. (women’s basketball)— Junior Kristin Heminger (Merritt Island, Fla.) names
Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week for her efforts in the 2006 Holiday Classic hosted by Florida Tech. Heminger a local stand-out player from
Merritt Island High School transferred from Division I West Virginia University to play for Head Coach John Reynolds.

The guard/forward led the Panthers to a pair of south region wins at the Florida Tech Holiday Classic. In Florida Tech’s 79-40 rout of Albany State,
Heminger scored a career-high 25 points on 10-of-12 shooting, including a perfect 4-of-4 from three-point range, while playing just 27 minutes.

She added 11 points and seven rebounds as the Panthers topped #19 Fort Valley State 62-56 after trailing by as many as 11 points in the second half. For
the week, Heminger averaged 18.0 points per game, while shooting 50% or better from the field, from three-point range and from the line. She earned a spot
on the All-Classic Team.

Heminger is a Mechanical Engineering major at Florida Tech who was born in Defiance, Ohio to Tim and Pam Heminger. For the season, she is leading the
Panthers offensively and defensively averaging 14.1 points per game (155 points) and 4.1 rebounds per game (45 rebounds).

Also in the Week 5 Poll of the USA Today ESPN Division II Top 25 WBCA Coaches Poll the Panthers made
the list for the first time this season under the Others Receiving Votes as the only SSC institution recognized for the January 2, 2007 release by the
Women’s Basketball Coaches Association.
