Historian to Speak at Vero Beach Book Center

MELBOURNE, FLA. — Robert Taylor, Ph.D., head of the Department of Humanities and Communication, at Florida Institute of Technology, will speak at the Vero
Beach Book Center on Saturday, Sept. 13, at 1 p.m. This is the 15th year that Taylor has presented at the center’s book forum.

Taylor will discuss A Voyage Long and Strange: Rediscovering the New World by Tony Horowitz. The book is about the discovery of America from many
perspectives.

One of Taylor’s books, Florida in the Civil War, earned him the 2002 Charlton Tebeau Award for the Best Book on Florida History. Most of Taylor’s books are
available online at www.barnesandnoble.com. A Florida historian for nearly 25 years, he resides in Palm Bay.

The book center is located at 2145 Indian River Blvd.
