Shelley Johnson Joins Florida Tech Consulting

MELBOURNE, FLA.—Shelley Johnson has joined Florida Tech Consulting, the consulting arm of Florida Institute of Technology, as the associate director. Florida Tech Consulting is part of the Office of Strategic Initiatives.
Johnson has a background in business development, marketing and public relations. She specializes in securing partnerships and corporate collaborations as well as creating and orchestrating creative initiatives.

“I am thrilled with this new opportunity at Florida Tech,” she said. “I look forward to connecting the university’s faculty, technology and facilities with businesses that need their expertise to solve a problem or to help create opportunities. Businesses that must focus on day-to-day operations can find it difficult to keep up with the fast pace of technological change. The diverse expertise of Florida Tech Consulting can fill this gap, meeting the needs of large and small firms.

Johnson earned a bachelor’s degree in communications with a minor in English from the University of South Alabama, Mobile. She moved to Indialantic in 2002 from Palm Beach County.

Since 2002, she worked for Space Coast Early Intervention Center in the Development Office. She is on Florida Today’s Reaching Out board of directors.Johnson also worked for the American Red Cross and YWCA in Palm Beach County. She is married and the mother of two school-aged children.
