Israeli Students Visit

MELBOURNE, FLA.—Forty-four ninth and tenth graders from the same school that Columbia astronaut Ilan Ramon attended in Be’ersheba, Israel, visited the Space Coast for about 8 days in January. Among the places they went was Florida Tech. In this photo, the students gather in front of the Ramon Residence Hall. The hall is part of the university’s Columbia Village Residence Hall Complex, dedicated to the memory the Columbia astronauts.

The photo is by Brevard County resident Wendy Roy, who also came for the visit to Florida Tech and who helped coordinate family hosts for the students. She is putting together an exchange of American students to Israel for 2009. She may be contacted at: roygroup@mac.com.

At right are Stephanie Enstice, Florida Tech associate director of international admission, and Hamid Rassoul, Ph.D., professor of physics and space sciences. Enstice welcomed the students with a university overview PowerPoint presentation. Rassoul coordinated the visit to Florida Tech.
