Jazz and Latin Ensembles Band Together for a Charlie Brown Christmas Dec. 2

MELBOURNE, FLA.—Florida Institute of Technology’s music program offers a variety of performance ensembles including the Panther Jazz Band, known for its big band style and the Latin Percussion ensemble, known for its Afro-Latin sound. On Dec. 2, at 5 p.m., the Department of Humanities and Communication will present “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” led by Jamie Younkin, assistant professor of music.

“This is our first full-length concert. Panther Jazz is a hard-swinging, high-energy big band with a lot of kick. Our guests for this concert will be the grooving Panther Latin Percussion ensemble. We bring a variety of jazz styles to our show, which concludes with a fun holiday favorite,” said Younkin.

The free concert will be in the Denius Student Center’s Hartley Room on campus. For more information, call Younkin at (321) 674- 7320, or e-mail jyounkin@fit.edu.
