Jensen Beach Resident Earns Fellowship at Florida Tech

– Heather Holberger, of Jensen Beach, has earned a $5,185 fellowship for the 2004-2005 academic year at Florida Institute of Technology from the Gertrude
E. Skelly Foundation endowment. Funding for the endowment by the Boynton Beach, Fla. foundation was matched by the F.W. Olin Foundation of New York City.

Holberger is studying for a master’s degree in environmental science.

The late Gertrude E. Skelly established the foundation in 1991 to provide medical care and educational opportunities for those who cannot otherwise afford
them.

The Department of Marine and Environmental Systems integrates the expertise and skills of scientists, engineers, and resource managers. DMES offers
undergraduate and graduate degrees in oceanography, environmental science, ocean engineering and meteorology.
