Kelley with Career High Night Helps the Panthers Harpoon Sailfish

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (men’s basketball) — Junior starting forward Jod Kelley (McCormick, S.C.) notched a career high 26 points helping Tech take their
second straight victory and first road win of the season tonight against DII South Regional opponents Palm Beach Atlantic 87-78 at the Rubin arena.

Kelley, a 6-8 power forward, went 8-for-11 from the field and also hammered another career first going 6-for-7 from the three point range. He chipped in
seven rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks, 1 steal and hit 4-out-5 from the charity strip as well.

Tonight’s game was in part a trio performance of two juniors and a freshman coming up big despite a new staring line-up for the game. Kelly along with
fellow starters’ junior point guard E.J. Murray (Rockledge, Fla.) and freshman forward Justin Sedlak (Pezinik, Slovakia) combined for 72 of the 87 points
scored by the Panthers en route to their repeat victory over the Sailfish.

Sedlak garnered only the third Tech double-double for the year and second personal with 21 points and 11 rebounds for the contest. This is the second time
in his first season Sedlak has hit 21 points with an earlier high score against Jacksonville.

Murray put up 25 points with two flawless performances at the line hitting 4-for-4 and from the perimeter notching 5-for-5 in threes for the night.

The Panthers went on a shooting spree finishing with an amazing 59.6% from the field and 75% from the three point range. The Sailfish came up short hitting
only 40% overall and a disappointing 26.3% for three pointers.

Tech got hammered on offensive rebounds but managed to even out the final tally with both teams pulling down 39 total team boards.

Florida Tech is now 4-7 on the season and will be back on the road facing DII regional foe Valdosta State on Friday, December 22nd in Valdosta, Georgia.
